  1. A Friday afternoon special?
I don\'t know if I got a Friday afternoon special or not but this TV was reviewed as the best 32\" TV of 2018. If this was the best then (and typical of the model as a whole) only the Gods know what the rest are like. The good points - The HD picture was actually rather good. The bad points (sadly many) - Standard def picture quality (85% of the channels I actually watch, Freeview) - appalling, notable artefacts, especially on skin tones (my Grandfathers old Samsung, circa 2008 model, is superior, as was my parents old LG that had failing backlights). - Chromatic aberrations (a purple, blue or green fringing normally seen in photography on high contrast areas of the image, usually created by a cheap lens e.g. white against a green background) and, an issue which developed over the fifteen days I had it, a one inch light band down the left hand side when a picture was on. - Randomly deleting channels - change to a channel that I wanted to watch, it would delete the channel and punt me onto a shopping channel (even if I had previously deleted said channel) thus resulting in a retune. - Sound was bad even in comparison to my parents new JVC TV costing £100 less (it has better SD image quality too), almost necessitating in the need to purchase a soundbar.Interface is clunky as hell in comparison to my previous 5 series (ue32H5500AK), change an input device? rather than simply change the input, it pops up a full screen image before changing. Unlike the previously aforementioned 5 series where you can change the channel order (a little thing perhaps but it allowed me to put the High def channels, BBC 1/2 etc... on channel 1, 2 etc...) you can\'t do that on this one (an arbitrary region limitation that they imposed on the UK rather than a limitation of the technology). It appears they\'ve concentrated on superficial bells and whistles rather than, you know, making the image processor good, I was always had the nagging feeling that one day it\'d say Goodbye Dave when I turned it off too (stupid artificial animated shrinking white bar).I\'m now in the position of either springing for a repair of my old Samsung 5 series (£216 on one quote) or take a chance on one of the other 32\" screens on sale (space limitations, this is the biggest that will physically fit).Seriously disappointing and has put me off Samsung screens.
  2. Excellent picture and great value
Excellent picture and better than expected sound.Easy to set-up and light-weight so easy to mount.Good selection of inputs
  3. Loved it but sometimes tv randomly switches on
Loved it but sometimes tv randomly switches on. Also does not connect to wifi at times even though it has a strong signal. (Wifi works on other devices)
  4. malfunctioned the same month the warrenty died.
bought 6th december 2017, screen malfunctioned 28 december 2018.now i have flickering dark patches up the left side of the screen.this tv is that joke about things that break the same month the warranty goes.unreliable. parody of itself.
  5. Smart? Oh no it isn't
Claims to be a smart TV but for that you need to buy a £70 dongle. Irritating as I bought it as I was unwell and needed something for my extended stay in the bedroom. It is a nice TV though and the sound is better than my more expensive lounge TV, I do not feel like I need a soundbar with this set. The controller works fine but feels very lightweight and flimsy, not sure how long that will last. As it needs a dongle for the Smart element you would think it would have 2 USB ports but alas it only has 1, so you cannot plug in your laptop and have the dongle in as well. I am sure there will be a way around that though. It is a nice TV within the limitations above.
  6. Great tv
This was actually our second one of these, we already have a 49 inch one and were so pleased we got the 32 inch for a bedroom 👍
  7. A great dumb TV for those who just want to plug in HDMI like a Chrome Cast
No smart features, unless you consider auto turn-on when you cast when on standby. Colours are really bright and black is deep. A really great, simple TV.The only thing wrong is the stand, it is a complere joke -- it even says in the manual that your TV may fall over if it is not connected to the wall = very, very unstable and dangerously wobbles with any vibration. This TV needs to be wall mounted if you don\'t want to wake up one morning with a smashed TV because its fallen over.
  8. Nice TV but has a couple of glitches
Easy to set up. Picture quality is fine, although I did find some of the extra settings such as \'motion plus\' were better turned off. I find the sound is pretty good when listening to music but, like most flat screen TV\'s, the quality can vary a lot when watching other programmes. I found that the \'optimised\' sound setting gave the best quality by far. It connected up fine to my Wi-Fi, I haven\'t used the smart functions too much other than trying out YouTube and everything worked ok. No short cuts on the remote for any of the apps, such as Netflix, but that doesn\'t bother me. Neither does it have any Scart sockets, but it does have 3 HDMI ports. There is no light display on the TV when it\'s turned on or when you use the remote (a lot of people turn that feature off anyway) but a red light does come on at the front when the TV is put in stand by, this cannot be disabled.A couple of minor irritations to be aware of. There is supposed to be a function where you can rename your source inputs (to DVD player etc) however it only stores and remembers the name for as long as the device is turned on, as soon as the DVD player, in my case, is turned off it forgets the name you have entered and it is once more labelled as \'HDMI Unknown\' the next time you turn it on. I also have a Sky HD box, which it renamed during the set up process, and it does remember the name for that, even when it goes into standby, but the whole function of renaming the other source inputs is a complete waste of time if it is only temporary. On my previous TV the inputs were visible at all times if you pressed the \'source\' button, here the inputs disappear from your list completely if the connected device is turned off, so you need to turn the device on before trying to switch to it, all rather poorly designed I\'m afraid. I have also noticed that when I turn on my DVD recorder if I don\'t switch the input source to it straight away, and before it loads up properly, then the TV freezes and I can\'t do anything with it. However, as long as I change the input source as soon as it appears on the screen there is no problem. More irritating than a major problem and I have got used to it, but rather bizarre. The other nuisance is that if you go into the TV settings to make any adjustments the Smart Hub banner (where you access your apps, settings and sources) pops up again afterwards when you exit. Although you can stop the Smart Hub from appearing each time the TV is turned on I have no idea why it pops up randomly when you exit the TV settings, if you\'ve just exited your settings you don\'t need the banner popping up again. You\'d like to think these little glitches could be fixed with a firmware update, but I\'ve had a few updates through and no change, so I won\'t hold my breath.It\'s a shame about the couple of glitches, which are unnecessarily annoying, as I would have been happy with everything else
