What does 4K UHD stand for?

With four times the resolution of conventional Full HD, 4K UHD lights up your screen with over 8 million pixels. Experience improved images and enjoy a sharper picture with superior depth, contrast, natural motion and vivid details.

What is 3-sided Ambilight?

The Ambilight technology makes your screen appear much wider. LEDs on three sides of the TV project the colours on the screen onto the surrounding wall. The action takes place in your living room and creates an emotional viewing experience.

What is the P5 Perfect Picture Engine?

The P5 Perfect Picture Engine digitally optimises the picture regardless of the source. You will profit from brilliant colours and natural, lifelike skin tones. Get ready for an absolutely stunning contrast. Enjoy deeper blacks and brighter whites.

What do Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos mean?

Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos are premium sound and video formats. They deliver cinematic vision and sound. Contrast, brightness and colours reflect the director's original intentions. Enjoy spacious sound with clarity, detail and depth.

What does Android TV offer?

Android TV promises entertainment on a different level. This operating system allows you to navigate through and choose from a variety of series and movies. Play games or simply download your favourite apps to your smart TV.

  1. DO NOT BUY! Buggy to the point of practically unusable.
Shocking TV. DO NOT PURCHASEit’s incredibly buggy. Most likely going to rerun it unless Philips can send me a replacement that isn’t as bad.1. There’s no sound from the iPlayer app. Philips online help says to try updating it, or deleting and reinstalling. There’s no where you can install it from after deleting it. Not the google play store nor the Philips App Store.2. It randomly turns off the WiFi. Whilst you’re watching something. It’s infuriating.3. It keeps turning itself off. Within 1 episode of orange is the new black on Netflix it turned off 3 times. Not even exaggerating.4. It randomly stutters when watching something. It’s literally just done it as I am writing this. TWICE!5. The text on the remote is difficult to see. It’s white text on a silver button. There’s no backlight.I’ll keep coming back and updating this tally for the number of times the tv has restarted by itself: IIII/ IIII/ II
  2. Worst Remote Control Ever
I got the 55 inch version,The TV itself has a good picture but not brilliant, I do suffer some light bleeding but not as bad as others appear to have.It would be nice if Alexa was built in rather than having to add the application and then get alexa to control it more rather than Google.I have had the Android OS freeze a couple of times which required unplugging the TV from the mains(Its now on a smart plug for just this reason)Also I lost all sound a couple of times and again just turning the TV OFF and ON does not resolve it, It again needed the power unplugged.but, by far the worst part of this TV is the remote control, I will add photos later The light reflective silver of this remote with white writing on the buttons makes it impossible to see the buttons even at 12pm middle of the day in good daylight. and early evening with my hue lighting set to relax color again I cannot see the writing on the buttons. The remote is probably the worst remote I have ever owned and after contacting Philips regarding this they said it has been updated and easier to read so they would send me a new updated one. When I received it I think it is identical to the old one so I asked if they do a dark remote and they said this is the only available remote for this TV so there is nothing more they can do.You have to look at the remote at an angle to stand a chance of reading the buttons.Take a look at the remote control photos below.I am going to hook up a freesat box and see if i can control the TV via the hdmi cec to get round it. its the only thing I can think of.
  3. Ignore the scaremongering
I was dubious about this purchase after seeing so many negative reviews. I can\'t comment on the Wi-Fi reliability since mine is wired to the router, so my streaming services have been spot-on. It\'s a minor annoyance that you can\'t browse ITV or C4, but if you have the apps on your phone you can cast to the TV. The Ambilight is really brilliant, reacts so quickly to the images and really enhances a movie. Regarding the operating system, it\'s not let me down yet. I had some issues getting it to recognise an external hard drive but all is good with the world now- I suspect- like many of these negative reviews - it was operator error. So don\'t be put off - my set has been faultless (I waited a month before reviewing).
  4. PHILIPS "THE ONE TV" TO AVOID UNTIL THE BUGS ARE SORTED.
Have been using this tv for a month or so and can report the following: Positives are excellent picture quality with upscalling of HD sources very good. Upscalling of SD is poor but not the fault of the tv. As the saying goes you can\'t polish a £#&@. The big issue isthat even after installing all updates when turning on from standby tv prompts to enter both Country and Region even though thesewere saved during installation. The remote is attrocious on many levels and the menu system is sub menu after sub menu after submenu and is not user friendly at all as one press of the back button takes you completely out requiring you to make your way backthrough the many sub menu\'s. Freeview Play is NOT included and NOT downloadable so the only terrestial catch up apps are BBC I PLAYERand ITV HUB. Freeview play was promised when this tv was shown to the press in January. In conclusion, once again, Philips have releaseda smart tv in common with last years model which has issues. Shame as everything else is excellent. If Philips resolve these issues then I willbe delighted to ammend this review.
  5. Philip's misleading on Dolby Vision support
I just received my new Philip\'s The One model No: 55PUS7304/12.I am updating my review due to some months have passed and I must apologise to Philip\'s for my original review.Dolby Vision is working perfectly on the TV itself, playing Dolby Vision on the TVs Netflix app played Dolby Vision also the Netflix app on apple TV played perfectly.I have also discovered that it was and is in fact Apple TV that was and still is causing the Dolby Vision problems, I have made Apple aware of the problem and they are investigating. So my unreserved apology to Philips. The picture quality is outstanding, it obviously not as good on the blacks of OLED TV but is very very close. The colours are bright, vivid and life like colours especially on Nature Programs where landscapes pop you would think you were standing looking out a window the colours are that good and close to real life.Given the price point at the time I purchased this TV it it outstandingly amazing TV from philips. 👍 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 Rating.
