Nurofen For Children FeverSmart Temperature Monitor

An absolute waste of money! The monitor is inaccurate and either refuses to connect with the phone or takes multiple attempts to do so.I only just managed to connect it and make it work on my baby (has 0.6°C error margin, comparing to the ear thermometer, like the one they have in hospitals). Then he had a bath and afterwards I\'ve put it back on, and no matter how close I am to pair the device or how many times I try, it just doesn\'t work. So annoying!!

I got this when on special offer and I’m glad I did as I certainly would not pay full price for it.It is ok but it takes far too long to “warm up” and give you a reading, the readings fluctuate massively within a minute or so of each other so it’s hard to trust the results and it only comes with 4 sticky patches to attach it so after 4 uses you need to buy more sticky patches. I personally wouldn’t recommend this product. It seems like a great purchase as I could put it on and leave overnight etc and it would alert me if babies temp went too high but actually after using it a few times I’d prefer a normal thermometer.

I have 3 children that had a virus recently that made their temperature reach almost 40°. I put the patch on them at night and the app alerted me when their temperature got too high so I could give them their medication or seek medical advice. It really gave us peace of mind knowing that they were being monitored while the patch was on. It’s great that you set up different profiles for each child and in put their medication so it keeps count for you. My only moan would be is that it can loose signal quite easily if the base isn’t close enough for a reading and if you forget to input a medication time you can’t go back and put it in. I’m very happy we purchased this as we have 3 children 3 years and under so value the peace of mind this gives especially over night.

The idea is great and the design works well. Once configured on your phone (turning off battery monitor settings etc) then the devices connection is very stable. The android software itself is a little glitchy sometimes, crashing and losing profiles only for them to reappear again later - this can be frustrating but it\'s only happened twice.The sticky pads seem perfect for sensitive skin and don\'t leave any residue. Replacement pads are easy to purchase, they sell them in Boots etc now if you need new ones in a hurry. The pads are a bit expensive for what they are though.Reasons for the 3 star rating relates to the accuracy and app features. Overall the accuracy seems ok but it does really depend on positioning and arm placement. When the arm is down and it\'s positioned well then the temperature readings match in ear thermoscan readings.The second problem is the app and alerts. There isn\'t a way to set alerts for moderate temperature or green only red alerts which is 38 degrees or more. With it sometimes not being fully accurate it would be nice to have the option of alerts for all readings.It\'s a great device to have a saves disturbing your little ones in the evening or when napping but we still don\'t have enough trust to rely on this completely through the night and still set alarms to do additional readings with in ear thermometers.Technology is lacking in the health monitoring industry, so it\'s nice to see products like this being developed and accredited. We have used this device now a few times over 6 months and will certainly continue to use it despite its downfalls.

Gives a very inaccurate reading. We have a braun ear thermometer which is the same one the docs and hospital use. It gives a much more accurate reading. My child felt red hot to touch and FeverSmart™ monitor said his temp was 35.7 degrees. By touch alone you could tell he had a fever. The braun said it was 38.3. The manual states there will be a 0.5 degree of difference between the ear and armpit but this difference was 2.5 degrees.Please be careful when purchasing this as it’s not reliable and can give you a false reading of the true temp. We had this set up accurately and as per the diagram in the booklet that comes with it

I bought this, with having 2 disabled children. So i could keep an eye on their temperature, when they\'re ill. Tried it today as ive just received it and i am glad i didnt pay the full price it should of been, had the monitor in the correct place. The monitor had my sons temperature at 35.1 degree C, when checked with the in ear thermometer. His temperature recorded was 37.8 degree C, if you have children where you know temperature is vital. To stop seizures or other more serious issues, please dont waste your money with this product. As the accuracy is that far off its not safe.Your child could be in the danger zone, well before this monitor alerts you. The only place this thing is going is in the bin and im going to stick to the in ear thermometer instead. Its a shame as i was hoping this would make my life a tiny bit easier

Bought this last week and was delivered the very next day. My two year old son gets pretty bad fevers that spike late at night and mean i spend half the night getting up just to check he\'s ok. After a couple of nights using this over the weekend i am very impressed... I checked his fever throughout the night without having to disturb him (and without me getting out of bed!) Its also useful to see the log of his medicine, and interesting to see how his temperature drops on the graph after he has had it.In all, a great bit of kit and simple to use after spending a few minutes on the set-up.

The only recommendation for this is to test the app before purchasing. I have Android on Sony, Xioami and Samsung phones and the app installed but wouldn\'t let me login, even when creating account on Nurofen website it keeps coming up with incorrect region. No reply from Nurofen customer services.The actual product looks good! shame its completely useless without the app!
