Two stars as The build quality of the stand and the functionality looks great. But, I needed the monitor to do photo editing. I don\'t thing I\'ve seen a monitor with worse back-light bleeding so far, not even on the very cheap ones at work.Seriously Dell? This was a £500 + monitor when lunched !!!The monitor is going back today and because Amazon didn\'t offer me a replacement option it will have to be a refund.I can see from reviews that a lot of people are happy with this model, but for me, Dell is not an option anymore.

I\'ve been buying Dell Ultrasharp\'s since 2007 and they have always been very high quality monitors. Was in the market for a 27inch QHD display so Dell was my 1st option. Did some research before hand but not a lot out for this newer display. I did read some concerns re IPS Glow and backlight bleed issues but decided to buy them anyway due to Dell\'s reputation for high quality monitors, this was a mistake. The first thing I did when I set them up was run the back light bleed test. This was the worst backlight bleed I have seen on any monitor, ever. I bought cheap viewsonic LED monitors for work last year and they dont even have this level of bleed and they cost a 3rd of the price. The second issue is an insane amound of IPS glow on the top right and top left corners of the monitor. This is instantly visible while watching movies with the black bars at the top and bottom as well as dark scenes in games. These issues are visible on both monitors as I bought an identical set for a dual screen setup. The only reason I gave this 2 stars instead of one is decent build quality and very small bezel size.I\'m surprised that for a premium line of monitors in the Ultrasharp range Dell have really dropped the quality control standards over the years.Returned these and bought HP\'s 27 QHD Z series monitors. They are very high quality IPS panels that can run at 1440P 75Hz instead of 60Hz and most importantly do not have the same issues with IPS Glow or backlight bleeding.

After reading the reviews for this monitor here on Amazon I was feeling hesitant to order this monitor but it just looked so good with regards to its \"infinity display\" design. And by that I\'m talking about the very thin plastic bezel around the edge of the display. But my concerns were unwarranted as the display is absolutely gorgeous. I\'m no stranger to display technology and I consider myself quite picky when it comes to how I like my displays to look (colour temperature, contrast, brightness, viewing angles etc). And although this isn\'t a professional display with a wide colour gamut it is a true 8-bit IPS panel with 175 degree viewing angles. Some other reviewers have commented about flickering when connected to certain computers. Initially I also experienced this issue but it turned out that the included Display Port to Mini-Display Port cable is not very well shielded and when draped across an AC power cord (like the one that powers the monitor) it would cause interference which manifested itself in the display and computer disconnecting from each other. Simply moving the cables apart fixed this issue and I have not once had it happen since I did that. The picture quality is really nice, inside the box you get a piece of paper indicating the display has been calibrated by Dell from the factory. This is common with their displays going back many years. I would say that they did a great job, it was setup around 50% brightness, 50% sharpness and all the colours look great to me. I have some other monitors which have also been calibrated and its colours, temperature and contrast look about the same as those which is to say, very good. The only thing I don\'t like about the display is when you disconnect it from a computer it doesn\'t go into standby straight away. Instead it brings up a timer counting down 4 minutes and then it enters standby. This doesn\'t occur if the computer is simply being shutdown while connected to the display which means this issue is really only confined to people using the display with a laptop. It\'s not a huge deal of course it\'s just a little quirk that I find annoying.Apart from that the display is great, the super-slim bezels coupled with what I would consider an amazing IPS 4K panel make for a great display. If you don\'t need or want bezels this small (I measured them with a tape measure to be 4mm thick with no extra blank space between the bezel and the LCD pixels) then you will likely be able to find an alternative 4K monitor for around £400. This display as of this review was £600. For me the slim bezels were worth taking a chance. One last thing to note, it does come with a 100x100 vesa mount and does include the four screws you would need to use that mount. The stand that comes with the monitor doesn\'t need any tools to fit, you just put it in place and it locks itself down. The stand is quite nice offering a wide freedom of motion and looks quite stylish, as does the entire monitor really.
