  1. Great Monitors Updated Review
Update: One year LaterThese still perform brilliantly. No faults at all with daily use, if you are considering getting a new monitor(s) then I can 100% recommend this model. You will not be disappointed.Original Review:Only just set these up but cannot complain. They were packaged brilliantly to avoid damage, credit to Asus. They are clear, no dead pixels and look great when gaming (league of legends)Perfect addition to the set up.Would reccomend these of you\'re on the fence.
  2. Bitterly Disappointed with screen sharpness
Review for ASUS VZ249HE 24 Inch (23.8 Inch) Monitor, FHD (1920 x 1080), I am using this as a second monitor next to Macbook pro 13inch 2018 model and the sharpness of text between two is day and night... Text sharpness in PDF document between two is completely different. The same text you can read at certain zoom level on macbook and is completely unreadable when moved to this ASUS screen. How can they make such a big screen with low screen resolution!Don\'t buy this monitor for working where you need to see image/text sharp, perhaps it is good for casual gaming and watching movies.I was quick throw away the cardboard box it came in with otherwise I would have returned it.
  3. Bad image quality
I can\'t understand the 5 star reviews. These folks probably haven\'t used monitors from any other brands or are color blind.I have a LG 23MP68VQ. I ordered this as I wanted to have a dual screen setup for my work. If this were my only monitor I\'d probably be happy with it. But next to the LG I can\'t bear to look at it.It doesn\'t display the black/dark regions well. They appear as grey. I spent an hour trying to caliberate the settings to get it to match LG, but no luck.Look at the attached image. The image is supposed to be black, and same image is open on both monitors. And no, there isn\'t a massive difference in price for the two monitors. I got my other one for plus minus 10 pounds.
  4. Light bleed, poor contrast, good colors, needs well lit room facing away from light source.
To clarify, this is the 27\" 2560x1440 IPS Eye Care Monitor. The reviews don\'t really give a clear picture since there are so many different monitors on the same page and you can\'t get them specifically for the one you might be looking at.First impressions after getting it out of the box were great, it\'s attractive (at least from the front) with its tiny top and side bezel and the gold bottom bezel. The stand was super easy to assemble and requires no tools. Mine came with a display port cable which is what I used to hook it up to my RTX2060. Out of the box settings are retina searingly bright, I have the brightness set at 7% and on a really bright day increase this to 20%. The first thing you\'ll notice after that, is that the \"bezel less\" design is pointless, since the picture is a solid 1/4 inch away from the bezels, so it only passes for that when it\'s off. When on, it\'s a standard slim bezel look, only not as nice if there was actually bezel there, since the light bleed between the bezel and the screen just looks nasty. The issues continue, you\'ll notice that if the screen is facing a window or other light source, that despite the matte finish, a good portion of the screen will have some pretty fierce light flare on it, not as severe as a glossy screen, but far in excess of any other matte finish monitor I\'ve seen or any matte finish laptop screens I\'ve had. As the day wears on and the light fades, it becomes obvious that the black levels are VERY poor. Worse, during a very dark scene mine shows an awful lot of light bleed especially at the left and right center edges. If you apply a little pressure to the back of the monitor in this area, it improves dramatically, almost as if the screen isn\'t properly bonded. This is definitely not a monitor to watch a movie on in a dark room.I\'ve owned it now for nearly 2 weeks, and so far I haven\'t noticed any dead pixels, so that\'s a plus. Colors are a little over saturated, but reasonably realistic, definitely better than TN panels and definitely the monitors strong point. I\'ve activated the adaptive sync and although the nvidia driver recognizes it as g-sync compatible, it certainly doesn\'t appear to work, frame rates that deviate from the refresh rate even by just a few fps are noticeably choppy compared to just running with no vsync (or even with standard vsync for that matter). There is no VESA mount (I knew this before going in), the stand only tilts a little (no swivel or pivot, but then you can tell this looking at the stand), the on screen menu is fiddly (really wish I could control it from the desktop, at least the brightness) and it DOES have speakers, though it might as well not have, they are worse than any bad laptop speaker you\'ve ever heard. It does have a small footprint though, and the ring stand means you don\'t need much space available. All in all, this is one disappointing monitor. I was going to go with the £50 cheaper AOC monitor with virtually identical specs until I realized it was 32\" which was just TOO large for me. I am wishing I hadn\'t noticed. This is not a terrible monitor, but it\'s certainly not great either. I\'d be happier about most of its problems if the black performance wasn\'t so awful. I used to run my old laptop screen at a lower brightness level than this and it A) didn\'t have light bleed and B) had excellent contrast even in a totally dark room. My LG 4k TV is more than twice the size of this, better in every respect (brightness and contrast) and only cost a little more than this did.
  5. Excellent Monitore
I bought 2 of these monitors to replace a single/smaller monitor and what a difference.Physically they are very light and very thin (the main screen), with quite a solid base \"arm\" that\'s connected to the back of the monitor -- this levers out -- the round base stand screen to the bottom of the lever arm and you can easily do this with a small screw driver, a coin or with the handy clip thats connected to the screw.Setting them up is very easy, and it\'s mainly to screw the bottom in and remove the protective labels. The bezel on the edges is also very slim so having the two monitors side by side -- really gives a massive window/real estate for the destop to be supplied.Connections on this monitor are as described, power, via a small transformer and VGA or HDMI.Set-up and connection very easy and once I turned my PC on again, the 1st (and 2nd screen), where automatically recrognised so no changing any settings from the PC/screen management software.I\'m running these two on a Nvidia GTX 660 grapshics card -- so quite an old card by todays\'s standards.1st impressions both screens very sharp/clear and now a massive amount of space to run/appiclations and dock windows. This was main main reason for the purchase as my PC @ work is dual montior and if/when working at home found the productivity dropped due to having to juggle apps on the desktop.Very pleased with the buy and quality of these montiors for the price.
